Thoughts On This Little Thing Called Style...

My Personal Photo
One of the things I treasure most about blogging; is the friendships I’ve made with readers and fellow bloggers. I never cease to be amazed by the depth, intelligence and inspiration that blogs provide.

When Lin, from Out of the Bag, asked me to participate in her Question Time interview series, I couldn’t have been more humbled. I always look forward to spending time on Lin’s blog; it’s truly a thought-provoking read. You can read my thoughts on this little thing called style here. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed answering the questions.

Lin, thank you once again for taking the time to interview me. To Pret a Porter PMiss Sophie, Amanda, Aissa and Hannah-Rose – I’m honored to be in such wonderful company.

Have a lovely weekend.

    1. LN- Thank you! That means so much to me. I always like to think of style as so much more then what we wear.

  7. Lindsay, I am blown away by your answers. They're thoughtful and peppered with wise advice. It's wonderful to read that you appreciate your privileged upbringing but you never forget to give back. If I could summarize you in 5 words, it would be elegance, grace, humble and a deep thinker.

    1. Chocolate, Cookies & Candies- I don't know what to say. I'm speechless! Thank you for the incredibly kind words. They mean so much to me.

As much as I love talking about style, I think it's important to put it into perspective. The fact that we're all discussing style and clothes over blogs is a privilege. We all have skills we can share with others and big or small some way of giving back.

  8. Absolutely loved your interview! Eloquent and thorough. What I really liked is how confident and mature you are about the process of developing your style . I loved learning about the busy life that you have. Hong Kong seems very similar to New York, one big cradle of multitasking. It has been a real pleasure reading this. Thank you for taking the time to answer all the questions.

    1. T like Bubble Tea- Thank you. There's something very self indulgent about interviews and blogging that makes me feel shy, so it's good to hear positive feedback:)

I believe in staying true to yourself. You bring up such a good point about the development of style being a process- it's so true. It helps to be open to being aware of what you naturally, instinctively like and respond to.

When I was there, I felt that Hong Kong had that feeling too. I feel a bit odd when I don't have a lot going on. Perhaps we all feed on that energy.

  9. Lindsay,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your interview. You are so intelligent, elegant, and eloquent! I was so impressed by every answer and deeply respect your thoughts on style, career, and giving back. Thank you for sharing. I feel like blogging has "distorted" privacy, but you were able to be private and still give candid responses.

    1. Samantha- Thank you! That's so incredibly kind of you. I really appreciate the sweet words.

You bring up such a good point and one that I struggled with in the interview. I'm glad I ended up finding a way to negotiate the two. Blogging does distort the idea of privacy. I think it's important to be candid but maintain some degree of privacy.

All that being said, I can't wait to hear more about your trip to Nicaragua. I'm in awe of you and the gentleman and I really want to do an aid trip.
