Hope everyone had a productive week. Benefit season is in full swing in New York. For me, the third week of November is always devoted to making sure the benefit for one of New York's oldest and most revered non-profits (mentioned here and here) goes off without a hitch. Despite months of planning, there are always last minute seat changes and auction items that comes in. Add in a few unexpected projects and last minute meetings; and this week has left me a bit frazzled in a good way.
What a pleasant surprise when the sweet staff at Be In Style emailed to let me know that my blog was one of their recent Best of the Web picks. I'm humbled. In the midst of a busy week it's so nice to hear that my little blog inspires. As for the benefit- I'm over the moon. In this economy, when it's harder than ever to get people and corporations to give, we managed to have more people attend. To date our benefit raised $679,975, which means even more children will be helped! So inspiring.
Congrats on being featured :) And congrats on the amount raised do far! I hope people keep on giving :)

Vanilla - Notes from my closet- Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's very exciting. The benefit is always very successful, but it's hard to ignore the roll of the economy. Tickets and corporate tables are harder to sell- so we're all so happy:) I really hope people keep giving too.
That is great news - about your award and the benefit! It's all about good karma, giving and receiving. Am really happy for you.

ReplyDeleteYes, not bad for one night. I love how energized everyone is to give back and continue supporting. It's truly amazing to see.
Lindsay, this is a well deserved recognition. Good for you! That's a terrific job for pulling in so much funds especially in this economic climate.
ReplyDeleteChocolate, Cookies and Candies- Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes, it really is challenging in this economic climate to get companies to pull in funds or to have young people give. It's really inspiring to see people rally.
Congrats on being the Best of the Web! That's amazing :D
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to know there are still generous people who give (despite the economic climate).
